Understanding Health Inequalities: research in practice

SRA North hosts this free event, examining how this past year has thrown the UK’s existing health inequalities into sharp relief. Hear from four researchers on their investigations into different aspects of health inequalities:

  • David Leese, Joseph Rowntree Foundation - Impact of Covid-19 on Poverty and Solutions Going Forward
  • Suzy Solley, Groundswell - Women, health and homelessness in London
  • Georgina Culliford, Qa Research & Becky Barwick, NHS Leeds CCG - Launching a Health Inequalities Strategy

Meet the speakers:

David Leese - The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is an independent social change organisation working to solve UK poverty. David previously worked at NHS Digital, and will talk about the impact of Covid-19 on poverty and health inequality

Suzy Solley - Groundswell works with people with experience of homelessness, offering opportunities to contribute to society and create solutions to homelessness. They believe people who have experienced and moved out of homelessness should inform the solution. They have a national network of volunteer advocates and researchers who have experience of homelessness.

Georgina Culliford (Qa Research) & Becky Barwick (NHS Leeds CCG). Qa Research, a research agency based in York, worked with Leeds CCG in 2020 on their new strategy to tackle health inequalities. Research investigated public opinion, and how far the public would support the principle of equity.

This is a free event.

The webinar will be hosted via Zoom.
