SRA North free evening seminar - Participatory approaches

SRA North free evening seminar - Participatory approaches
Participate now! How participatory approaches can transform the researcher-participant relationship.

Introduction/overview

Join SRA North for a free evening seminar focusing on participatory approaches to social research. Speakers from two collaborative research projects will be discussing the insights they have gained from involving people with lived experience as partners in the research process.

The speakers will discuss methods as well as application, and the evening should be of interest to researchers working across a range of sectors.

The evening will be chaired by Laura Byrne from Boxclever and Jenny Reed from the British Red Cross.

Presenters will include:

James Duggan from Manchester Metropolitan University presenting on the Loneliness Connects Us project and how participatory approaches were used to develop new ways of thinking and talking about youth loneliness.

Roger Newton and Rowena Hay focussing on Better Births - a participatory action research project engaging women and their families to improve maternity services across England.

The evening will end with informal networking including drinks and nibbles.
